Katrina Bassett, MD, FAAD, is a board-certified dermatologist and Medical Director at Frontier Dermatology. Her practice is focused on medical dermatology — particularly cases that are diagnostically or therapeutically challenging — and she is known for her warm, size-inclusive approach to patient care.
Dr. Bassett earned her medical degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in 2007. She completed her internal medicine internship at MedStar Health / Georgetown – Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C., followed by her dermatology residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin Affiliated Hospitals. She has been in dermatology practice for more than a decade and has extensive experience treating patients of all ages.
Her clinical practice emphasizes medical dermatology for adults and children, with expertise in psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, skin cancer detection and treatment, and complex inflammatory skin disease. She has particular experience with diagnostically difficult presentations — cases where a specific diagnosis has been elusive, or where prior treatments have not achieved adequate control. Dr. Bassett oversees comprehensive services at her clinic including phototherapy for eczema, psoriasis, and vitiligo; Mohs surgery and non-surgical superficial radiation therapy for skin cancer; and cosmetic services including BOTOX, Juvéderm fillers, non-surgical fat reduction, non-surgical skin tightening, and laser hair removal.
Her publications include work on primary cutaneous sarcomatoid anaplastic large-cell lymphoma (American Journal of Dermatopathology), reflecting her interest in complex diagnostic cases. Dr. Bassett has been recognized as a 2025 Castle Connolly Top Doctor and is known for a communicative, inclusive patient care style — she is an advocate for size-inclusive healthcare and emphasizes building meaningful patient relationships from the first visit.
