Following residency, Dr. Lamel completed a fellowship in wound healing, where she developed advanced expertise in skin repair, tissue regeneration, and complex wound management. She has participated in dermatologic research at the University of California, Davis and the University of California, San Francisco, and served as faculty at the University of Miami while treating patients with difficult-to-heal wounds and conducting clinical research.
A respected leader in dermatology, Dr. Lamel has authored approximately 25 peer-reviewed publications and textbook chapters and has led numerous clinical research studies. She was honored with the American Academy of Dermatology’s Gold Triangle Award for her commitment to community outreach, skin cancer education, and melanoma awareness—a cause that is especially meaningful after her own experience with melanoma.
