Dr. Mikél Muse is a board-certified dermatologist dedicated to providing exceptional patient care at Frontier Dermatology. Originally from the Outer Banks of North Carolina, Dr. Muse earned her undergraduate degree in Public Health Studies from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.
Before pursuing medicine, Dr. Muse worked as an HIV counselor at a homeless shelter and as a medical assistant in a Mohs surgery office, which sparked her passion for dermatology. She went on to attend the Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine, with training in both Spartanburg, SC, and Blacksburg, VA.
Following medical school, Dr. Muse completed her dermatology residency through Campbell University in Wilmington, NC, and conducted dermatology research at Wake Forest University. She then practiced general dermatology before undertaking a one-year fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery. This advanced training focused on the precise removal of skin cancers and reconstructive techniques for sensitive areas such as the face, ears, and hands.

Procedural and surgical dermatology
Volunteering with grassroots international health organizations in Africa
Outside of her professional life, Dr. Muse enjoys hiking, exploring the local food scene, spending time on her father’s fishing boat, and walking her dog, Kiwi.
