Dr. John Paul Scopetta is a double board-certified Pathologist and Dermatologist specializing in Dermatopathology. He earned his Medical Degree from the University of Kentucky and holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Master of Arts in Cell and Molecular Biology from Villanova University. Dr. Scopetta completed his Internal Medicine Residency and Anatomic and Clinical Pathology Residency at Tulane University Medical Center, where he served as Chief Resident. He further honed his expertise with a Dermatopathology Fellowship at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.

Dr. Scopetta has extensive experience as a Staff Dermatopathologist at the Portland VA Medical Center, where he was involved in diagnostic work, education, and multidisciplinary tumor boards. His time there enriched his expertise in dermatopathology and patient-focused care.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Dr. Scopetta is fluent in both English and Spanish, allowing him to connect with a diverse patient population. Outside of work, he enjoys running, cooking, fishing, music, trivia, and spending time with his collie.
