Bio

Dr. Murphy was raised in Indianapolis, IN. She received a Bachelor’s degree in biology and pre-medicine from Ball State University, graduating Magna Cum Laude. After graduation she became a biologist at Eli Lilly and Company where she performed pre-clinical cardiovascular disease biomarker research. She later attended medical school at Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine and was awarded the Health Professions Scholarship through the United States Navy.

Upon graduating, she became an Active Duty Navy physician where she completed a Transitional Year Internship at Naval Medical Center San Diego and received the distinction of graduating in the top quartile of her class. After internship, she pursued flight school in Pensacola, FL where she trained to become a flight surgeon. For the remainder of her active duty tour, she served as a US Naval Flight Surgeon for Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 267 and Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 164 at Camp Pendleton, CA where she deployed overseas to Okinawa, Japan and participated in multiple military field exercises. She received numerous honors during her active duty service including the Humanitarian Service Medal for her work during the COVID-19 pandemic and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for her dedication to service.

Dr. Murphy has co-authored various publications in peer-reviewed journals and presented at the national level. She has a passion for surgical, medical and cosmetic dermatology.
